Your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) defines exactly who your best customers are — their company size, industry, job titles, pain points, buying motivations, and objections. A precise ICP is the foundation of effective lead scoring, targeting, and messaging.
CooVex builds your ICP from two sources: your existing lead and customer data (analyzing patterns in who has converted), and your business context. The result is a data-backed ICP that improves every other feature in CooVex.
Building your ICP
Step 1 — Let AI analyze your data
Go to AI Tools → ICP Builder and click Analyze My Customers. The AI looks at:
- Your Won leads — what do they have in common? (industry, company size, job title, lead source)
- Your highest-scoring leads — what firmographic patterns predict high scores?
- Your Lost leads — what characteristics are common among deals that did not close?
This analysis requires at least 10 Won leads for statistically meaningful results. With fewer, the AI makes suggestions based on your business context instead.
Step 2 — Refine with your knowledge
The AI presents a draft ICP. Review each section and add context the data cannot show:
- Pain points and triggers (“they usually come to us when their manual process is breaking at 20+ employees”)
- Objections (“the most common objection is price — they compare us to cheaper tools with fewer features”)
- Champions and blockers (“our champion is usually the VP of Marketing, but the IT team often blocks the purchase”)
Step 3 — Create buyer personas
From the ICP, create individual buyer personas — named, detailed profiles of the specific people who buy from you. E.g., “Growth-stage CMO Maria”: manages a 3-person marketing team, responsible for MQL targets, frustrated with disconnected tools, evaluates software based on time-to-value.
